Terminology

Term Definition
device Any piece of hardware that can be connected to a vehicle, such as Lytx SF-Series devices.
camera Any device, or part thereof, that records video and takes photographs. This includes an in-cabin camera, a road-facing camera, or auxiliary cameras.
auxiliary cameras A camera that can be installed in different parts of a vehicle to enable multiple perspectives during a trip. Each auxiliary camera is associated with a Lytx device.
group All devices, vehicles, and users are assigned to a group in the organization's hierarchy.
events Events are any of a number of risky incidents that can occur during a trip, such as acceleration, violent turns, or distracted driving.
recording Video of trips from all cameras associated with a device (the road-facing camera, the in-cabin camera, and any auxiliary cameras). The video is saved to the SD card and, subject to the configuration selected by the customer, uploaded to the cloud.
live streaming Live video from all cameras associated with a device (the road-facing camera, the in-cabin camera, and any auxiliary cameras). Depending upon the configuration selected by the customer, live video can be streamed directly from the device, from the cloud, or through the API.
